Notes & references	From a notable Aleppo family. His son was Abū al-Wafāʾ b. ʿUmar al-ʿUrḍī, the well known historian from Aleppo (17th C.). Some of the MSS he owned found their way to the library of Ḥannā al-Ṭabīb.
