Notes & references | Multiple texts in the manuscript serve an apologetic pro-Uniate/Roman aim. There are extensive marginal comments/textual emendations throughout - some with an anti-Nestorian, pro-Catholic tendency (though this is by no means consistent) - others more generic - captions etc. It must date between the death of Sulaqa in 1555, referred to in ʿAbdisho of Gazartaʿ's poems, and the death of Eliya bar Asmar Ḥabib in 1582, as he gave it to a church in Amida. |
