| Summary | This blessed book, which is The Delight of the Believer, is an eternal endowment and ever-lasting inalienable property of the Church of Our Lady, in the well-protected city of Aleppo, for the Greek Orthodox community. No one, be it a priest or a laymen, is allowed to change the endowment deed, to either use [the book] as a security, or demand it as one, to trade with it, to abuse it, borrow it, or to feed himself with it. Whosoever is at variance with this and transgresses in the aforementioned ways, his sin equals Judas’s… He shall be deprived of and detached from the glory of God, exalted is he. In the year 7185 since Adam. [1678]. |
