| Summary | This book was completed with the [divine] providence of the Bestower, by the hand of its copyist and translator from Greek to Arabic, the sinful servant Ilyās ibn Fakhr, known as ibn Fakhr, a citizen of Tripoli and of the Orthodox confession. [And it was completed] with the assistance of the devout worshipper and brother, abstemious amongst the reclusive and most innocent of the ascetics, the esteemed philosopher and active scholar Deacon Theodosius, servant of the holy and noble father of fathers and shepherd of shepherds, Kyrio Kir Silvestros, Patriarch of Antioch, long live the holiness of his Beatitude. And this was at the end of November (Tishrīn al-thānī) of the year one thousand, seven hundred and fifty-one of the Lord, corresponding to the year 7259 since creation, in the protected [city of] Aleppo. |
