| Summary | The most humble servant, the poor Ḥannā, the physician, deacon in name, the son of Shukrī, brother of Father Arsāniyūs, who ventured on this journey and is nowadays Bishop of the Maronites in the city of Aleppo, wrote or rather copied [this travelogue]. May God grant him to live long and continue to guide us spiritually and make obedience to him lie light on us. This [was written] in the year 1764, on the thirtieth day of the month of May. |

| Summary | The Travelogue of Father Arsāniyūs Shukrī It entered the Bibliothèque Orientale which belongs to the Université Saint-Joseph, on 2 April 1956, by the hand of the Jesuit Father Firdīnān Tawtil [Ferdinand Taoutel]. He gave to Mr. Najīb Mukarbana the Kitāb al-Munjid fī l-lugha wa-l-adab wa-l-ʿulūm in exchange for the Travelogue. He completed what was missing in it on page 10 and pages 382-383 from [another] manuscript which belonged to Father Jirhis Manash. It is now in the hand of Ilyās Ghālī “the Orthodox”, who was previously [known as] the priest Ilyās Ghālī the Maronite. 11 April 1956 There is [another] copy of the Travelogue, which belongs to Mr. Sallūm, the friend of the lawyer Rizq Allāh Sālim from Aleppo, who now lives in Bakfayya, the husband of Bint Bulaybil. |
